Sin,—l notice with regret that the Selection I Committee of the Otago Cricket Association have again followed the old plan of asking 22 men to practise for the forthcoming match with Cauterbury. Now, Sir, I am certain that the committee could even now pick eight of the team, ami that on the consistent batting form shown by these men during tho season. 1 ask what is the use of men practising who have not the remotest chance of being picked, and their practising is only wasting valuable time. A nvjch butter plnn" would be to have 30 or 11 batsmen down to practice, and let the lour best howlers howl to (hew.—l am, See.. Wellwisukk. Dunediu, January 10.
