Sydney, January 10. (Heceivcil January 10, at 10.20 p.m.) Bowmout has receiTed in the betting for the .Anniversary Handicap, and both Cardinal and Ben Bolt are being supported. Pasha has been injured internWly aud turued out for a spell.

Mr R. D. Borne, a member of the Invereargill Cycling Olub, arrived in Dnnedin last evening about J o'clock from Chrislchurch, having ninde the journey overland on a bicycle. He left Cbcistchurch on Friday morning, aud put up at Rakaia the same eight, starting at 8.30 the next day, and was overtaken by rain, having to make a stoppage at Kangitata. The following day Waimate was reached, aud on Monday morning the journey was continued, and Palmerston was reached the same evening, the journey from thence to Dunedin being made yesterdaj'. Mr Borne leaves for Invercargill on Thursday. The tire of the wheel came off near Timaru; aud although it was replaced, he finds it necessary to stay here to-day to get another put on. A Christchurch telegram states that the Cr.nterbury Rowing Club have decided not to compete at the Christchurch regatta unless ti-ie amateur definition in force at last year's regatta is adhered to.
