HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
A monthly meeting of the Hospital Trustees was held yesterday afternoon at the hospital. Present: Messrs Houghton (chairman), W. Isaac, W. Wardrop, M. Fagan, J. Robin J. Green, J. Wbite, and Dr Hislop.
It was reported that the total number of patients on the roll that day was 13G. That the house surgeon had drawn tho attention of the stall' to the crowded state of the wards, with a view to the discharge of some of tbe cases. Mi* Wales submitted a plant of the operating room and the nurses' home.
The Finance Committee's report recommended the payment of salaries and accounts for the month of June to the amount of £573 8s 7d. The credit balance at tbe bank was.£33s 19s ld. Application had been made to tbe Government for a subsidy of £252 14s 4d on voluntary contributions and donations amounting to £210. Tho repayments by patients for same amounted to £78 Gs, aud up to date far the present month to £52 2s. —The report was adopted.
A discussion took place about the present mode of admitting patients to the hospital on the order of a medical man, and a form was submitted to the nreting, providing the patients in necessitous circumstauces should only be recommended to be admitted to the hospital. It was resolved to adopt the form, the arrangement to come into operation on the lst September.
