M'Gavin, M'Gregor, and Co. v. Edward Brennan.—Claim £26 15s, on a dishonoured promissory note.—Judgment for plaintiffs for £26 11s.

Ahlfeld Bros. v. Joseph Wilson.—Claim £3 19s lOd, on a judgment summons. — Case dismissed.

Stewart M'Comb v. William Heath.—Claim £20, for conversion of cattle.—Mr Solomon appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr J. Adams for the defendant. — The case was heard at Port Chalmers, and judgment was now given for the defendant.

James Pickering v. Henry Richmond. —Claim £15.—Mr Denniston appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Solomon for the defendant. — The plaintiff sought to recover on the grounds that on the 24th May last the defendant, by his servant, unskilfully managed and drove a coach and horses along the public highway. That the coach came into collision with a coach and horses of the plaintiff, also being driven in the same direction. Plaintiff's coach and horses were injured, and he lost the use of them.— After evidence had been taken, judgment was reserved.

J. Wilson v. J. Braithwaite.—Claim £45— Mr Macdonald appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Hodgkins for the defendant. —The plaintiff in his statement said that on the sth June 1887 the defeudaut requested plaintiff to pay to the Dunedin City Corporation tho sum of £45, as license fee upon the Oriental Hotel, which was the property of the defendant, and the defendant promised, in consideration of his doing so, to repay him tho sum iv question.—The plaintiff paid the money, but the defendant had not repaid him; and the plaintiff claimed to recover from tho defendant the £45.—The case was adjourned until Weduesdiy next.
