Mails close ot the Chief Post Office, Dunediii (subject to any necesseary alterations), as under :— TtrKSDAT, NOVEMBER 16. For Lvttelton and Christchurch, per s.s. Penguin, at 2.20 p".m. Late letters, C.P.0., at 2.30 p.m. WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBHIt 17. For Northern ports of New Zealand, per s.s. Wairarapa, at l.oi> p.m. Late letters, guard's van, Port Chalmers train, at 2.30 p.m. DIRECT MAIL SERVICE. The contract steamer Kaikoura will leave Wellington for Plymouth, via Blode Janeiro, ou Thursday, November 18. Malls close here as uuOer :— For United Kingdom and foreign countries, via the United Kingdom, at 6.45 a.m. ou the 17th. Registered correspondence at 5 p.m. on the 18th. Book packets aud newspapers at 8 p.ni. on the 16th. Money orders at 4 p.m. on the 16th. Late letters, bearing an additional single rate of postage as a lato fee, can be posted in the mail van attached to the north train leaving Dunedin railway station at 8.10 a.m. on the 17th. The above mall will close for newspapers at the branch post office, Albany street, at fl p.m.. money orders at 4 p.m., registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 16th. and for letters at 5 a.m. on the 17th. At the Soutl* Dunedln offlce, for newspapers at 8 p.m., money orders at 4 p.m., and registered letters at 5 p.m. op the 16th, and for letters at sa.m. ou the 17th. At the Port Chalmers, office, at 8. a.m. on the 17th, money orders at 4 p.m., and registered iel ters at 5 p.m. on the 16th. The above mail will be due in Plymouth onDecember 30. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 19. For Southland, Australian Colonies, India, Chirk.
