CITY POLICE COURT.
Saturday, August 7.
(Before Messrs A. Bartleman and J. T. Wright,
J.P's.) Drunkenness. —Four persons were dealt with for this offence. Bye-law Offences. — George Adams ami Wall Long were fined 2s Gd respectively for allowing their chimneys to catch fire. James Jennings and Geo-ge Cakler were cuuvicted of allowing cattle to wander, but no flues were imposed. — Mr Faruie appeared on behalf of Oalder. Kescuiwi Cattle. — George Walmslcy was charged by Joseph Blellor with rescuing cattle seized at Kaikorai for the purpose of being impounded.—Blr Sim appeared for the informant, aud Mr Stanford for the defendant.—A fine of ss, without costs, was inflicted.
