Drunkenness.—Two persons charged with this offence were convicted and discharged, aud five were punished.
Obscene . Language.—William Baker, who was charged with making use of obscene language, was sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment.
Petty Theft.—Five children, named Adam Miller, Sarah Miller, Mary Spray, Jane Thomson, and Rubina Eastou, were charged with stealing 19 wooden brackets, of the value of 6s 4d, the property of Richard Sandilands.—Mr D. D.Mac•donald appeared for the accused.—Adam Miller and Rubina Easton, who pleaded Not guilty, were discharged. The other accused were convicted and discharged. Bye-law Cases —William John Smith was charged with allowing cattle to stray within the limits of the North-East Valley.—After evidence, the case was adjourned till Thursday. . Charles Catchpole, who was charged with allowing a cow to wander in the borough of St. Kilda, was fined 5s and costs.
Assault. — Elizabeth Brackley was charged with assaulting Matilda Robertson.—Mr Cook appeared for the defendant.—The case was dismissed.
Abusive Language.—Matilda Robertson was charged with using abusive language towards Elizabeth Brackley.—Case dismissed.
