—A very interesting^etter irotttfhe governor of the Gas Light and Coke Company aa to the cost of a London fog has been sent to The Times. The cost to the public for one recent day's darknoss in extra gas bills alone was £5,250, and the manufacture of the extra supply of gas necessitated the carbonisation of 3500 tons of coal. The quantity of gas deliveed, on January 20, the day referedto, was 96,000,000 cubic feet, the laigost quantity ever sent out in one day.
