On the motion of Cr Thomson, the onglneor was Instructed to take tho necessary love's and estimate the cost of forming the old Look-out Point road to a practicable grade, and report the estimated cost at next moating of the Council ; also that the Cavershtim Council be informed that the County Council intend to take a rough survey of ths work, and ask them to pay half the cost of tb« work. He stated thai he waa now only slaughtering on auffeiance, and had been put to great inconveniepco and loes in connection with tho delay. The Chairman was of the opinion that the City Council wore only fooling them, and the whole thing waa due to one or two of the councillors having made a fu6B about 14 at election time to catch a few votes. The amendment was then put and declared lost, only the mover and seconder voting for it. The motion was carried by four votea to two. Cr Roberts was not In attendance during the discussion, or when the voting took place.
