BARMAIDS. TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, —Seeing that I am so cowardly attacked by writers of letters to your paper, I beg you will aliow me to speak for myself. I am tho daughter of respectablo parents, and defy anyone to say I have ever disgraced them. —I am, &c., A BAIUIAID. February 2G. ' TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —Having been a barmaid for many years, and still following the same occupation, I feel a little grieved to rind myself and those —or a few—of my class spoken of as if we were anything but good characters. No doubt there are black sheep in every fold, but some credit is due to those who take caro of themselves. Some of us have got brothers and friends who will tako the matter up if these ill-natured remarks are repeated. — I am, &c, A KE3PECTADLK BARMAID. February 20.
