To be OPENED on tho lst of OCTOBER next, In Introducing to public notice this beautiful structure, which is admittol by all visitors whp have inspected it to bo the premier hotel of the Australasian Colonies, tho Proprietors bog to draw tho attention of visitors and residents to some of tho advantages it will offer. Being of fireproof construction, with simple and effective means of escape from evory fljor by tho exterior balconies and circular iron staircase, all tho upper floors are made practically as safe as the ground ono. Each floor is supplied with a separate fire service, made to our order by Messrs Shand and Mason, ot London. No modern publio building can rank as flret-class unless great attention be paid to theso particulars. This hotel la Insured for 60 per cent lower premium than any other hotel in tho Colony. It has a central and open position, facing Customhouse square; charming-viows are obtainable of the harbour, Peninsula, and ocean from the upper floors; lt is Bituated in tho centre ot tho tramway Bystans, and at a conveniont distance from the railway-station. It is commodious enough' to.affordall those'eomforts and conveniences that are to be found in the largest modern hotel establishments, Buch &3 efficient office administration, which will bo arranged on tho American plan; a beautiful vestibule, passenger elevator, sample-rooms, large privato reading and smoking room, ft guests' drawing-room for ladles and gentlemen/avoiding the necessity of private parlours; suites of rooms with private baths; piivate hath and toilet accommodation solely for ladies; a ladies' privato entrance and roccptiou-room; a hairdresslng establishment, laundry, &c. The sanitary appliances, which are of tlio most perfect description, wero imported specially for the buildings, and to avoid faulty fitting, and to render the intro-duction-cf sewer gum impossible, the plumbing has not been done by contract, but with the greatest fare by Messrs Andereoo arid Morrison, who wor» under instructions to execute all this work on tho plans recommended by the London Sanitary Commissioners. The basement drainage is perfect, and tho whole section is concreted and cemented; whilst there is also an abundance of light and ventilatipn in every part. Thus the whole building cannot Be otherwise than healthy and agreeable. lt will bo newly and elegantly lurnlshod throughout Special attention will be paid to the bedding; woven wire spring mattrosseß only will be used. Notwithstanding all these advantages, the tariff will be no higher than that of other first-class hotels. This Hotel is confidently presented to the public as the lending one of the Colony.
