(Received December lath, !882, at 11 a.m.) The ascidont at the Australasian mine at Creswick was caused by the miners breaking jnto old workings. According to latest reports the water at midnight was rapidly diminishing, 50,000 gallons an hour being brought up by the pumps. It is expected that the men still in the mine will bo reached this morning; but it is feared that, if thby have not been drowned, they will have been suffocated.

(Received December 13th, 1832, at 10 p.m.) The divers attached to H.M.V.S. Cerberuß were sent to Creswick to-day to assist in rescuing the miners in the flooded Australasian mine. Tho apparatus, howover, with which they were provided proved inadequate to enable them to reach the place where tho men wero at work. The divers endeavoured to communicate with the imprisoned men, but thoir signals were unanswered. It is believed the miners have perished. There is great excitement and distress in the Creswick district. !i"T(Received December 14th, 1882, at 1.5 a.m.) Three of the bodies of miners drowned by the flooding of the Australasian mine at Creswick were recovered this evening. The water in the shaft is being reduced rapidly, and the work of repairing the tubes which supply the workings with fresh air is now being proceeded with.
