Sm— As there has been somo discussion lately re Sunday trading, mil you kindly insert the following extract from report of City Police Conrt of September Ist, 1879.—1 am, &c, .. OXK OF Tubm. August 18th.
(Before I. N. Watt, Esq., R.M.) Certain men were charged with working on the tramway line on Sunday, August 24th, 1879. . ■ His Worship, in dismissing tho information, said ho thought it was a case of necessity, and added : This i» not a Christian country in the senso that England and Scotland are Christian countries, thero being no Established Church here ; there is therefore no legal Lord's Day. ' .
