Daily Times Office, Wednesday evening. The amount of Customs Revenue received to-day on

Mr Henry Driver (on-behaU of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.) reports as follows for the week ending 13th January:— Fat Cattle.—An unusually large supply of nearly 200 head were "yarded at the Kaikorai to-day^ 0/ which number 170 were sold. ~ In' order to quit this large number a considerable reduction on late quotations had to be submitted to. Best bullocks brought from £8 10s to £10 10s; do cows, from £7 to £9 10s, or, say equal to from 25s to 27s 6d per lOOlbs. Ido not, however, look upon this as a permanent reduction in value for prime quality beef, the low prices obtained being entirely owing to the large number that happened to come forward. I sold.'on account of Messrs Thomson, Fre.v, Brown, and others, 65 head at top prices, and have placed 30 head privately. Fat Calves.—As usual, only a few were penned, and brought from 15s to 60s each, according to size and quality. I sold a few at above prices. Fat Sheep.—There was also a very large supply penned, consisting of about 15 or 10 various sorts. AH pens of really prime quality, however, brought fully late prices,; inferior sorts could only be got rid of at considerable' reduction. Shorn cross-breds brought from 12s 6d to 10s; and very prime merino ewes, shorn 13s to 14s; shorn merino wethers, 7s 6d to 9s Gd ; do in the wool, 12s. I quote prime quality mutton at, say, for half-brcds, 2|d to 3d per lb; merinos, 2Jd. I sold at the yards 350 cross-breds and merino ewes at full rates, and have placed 400 for forward delivery. Fat Lambs.—27s were disposed of, and about 150 ordinary quality turned out. Those sold realise d from 6s 9d to 10s. At the latter price I disposed of about 150. Store Cattle.—There is still an active demand for quiet grown cattle fit for paddock grazing at up to late quotations, say, for bullocks, £5 10s to £6 10s; spayed cowb, fram £4 to £5 each. I have sold 200 head during the week. Store Sheep.—l have a large number of orders for young merino sheep of every description; but, as there is little disposition on the part of flockowners to part with this class of sheep, little business will be done, unless considerably higher prices are paid this season thin have ruled during the last two or three years. During the week I have sold between 6000 and 7000 merino ewes and wethers, and cross-breds, at following prices, say, from Gs to 7s for merino wethers, according to ages and quality ;4s Gd to 5s 6d for good

sound full-mouthed merino ewes; cross-breds, twotooth, 9s to 9s 6d; four-tooth, 10s to 10s 6d. ...- -', i Wool.—l held mv second sale of the new clip at the Otago Wool Stores this afternoon with very satUfac-. tpry results. The attendance of Ameriean-and local buyers was good and the competition spirited throughout, while prices obtained will compare favourably with those of the previous sale.
