GAS v. HOOPING COUGH.
TO THK EDITOR. Sir—l am a believer in £he beneficial effects of " Gas " in cases of hooping cough, from the fact that in England thousands of children are taken every year to the various gasworks, and, in most cages, deriving much benefit. ' As hooping cough ia exceedingly prevalent , in all quarters of the city, some hundreds of children suffering from it, I woidd suggest that the agent of the gas works have the purifying room thrown open on, say, one day in each week for a short period, until the disease is eradicated, believing he would be conferring a great pnblic favour.— I am, &c., Pho 'Bono Pubuco. Nov. 20. {We believe that the engineer of thfe gat works will have no objection whatever to children being taken thither for the purpose stated by our correspondent.—Ed. OP.T.J :
