IN consequence of a alight misunderstanding between the City Council and the Proprietor of the Dunerlin Gas Works, he feels it due- to the Citizens to intimate to thc-m that he has no intention of departing from the promise previously made, to tho effect that for three years, from the Ist of March last, tho price of' Gas to all Consumers paying their rates before the lfith of each month should not exceed 12s 6d per 1000 cubic feet.
