Sir—l am greatly surprised to find sonic few of those who, on Friday laßt, voted for Mr Bathgate now supporting Mr Macandrew for the Superintendency. This appears to me utterly unaccountable, provided those now alluded to Voted for Mr'_' Bathgate on any principle of local or general policy, or now support Mr Macandrew on any other, than personal grounds, and simply because it is Mr Macandrew. ; It must be obvious to any one who looks at the matter for ;a moment that for any one first to vote for Mr Bathgate and then to vote for Mr Macandrew, is for one to /stultify himself, and t» pull down with one hand what he get up with the other.
