THE APPROACHES TO THE SOUTH

DISTRICT SCHOOL.

(To the Editor of the Otago Daily Times.) Sir—At "the risk of pursuing the subject'ad nauseam, I must contribute my testimony in support of what has already appeared in your joitrnal on the above subject. I feel convinced that an occasional isolated complaint would fail to move either the Corporation or the Educational. Board towards remedying rthe evil. Nothing short of a continued agitation on the part of parents interested till the nuisance be removed will be of any avail. The subject would call imperatively for immediate attention did it but affect the comfort of a lot of rough-shod sturdy boys ; but when we reflect on the fact that a number of lightly-shod delicate^ girls are, from this cause, daily sowing the .seeds of consumption and early death, any further delay in attending to this matter on the part of the proper authorities is worse than culpable neglect, it is downright cruelty. Trusting I shall not have occasion to trouble you again on this subject, I am, &c. Another Aggrieved Paterfamilias.
