In the Legislative Council, the British Companies Bill, the Audit Act Amendment Bill, and the Panama Service Act Amendment Bill have passed. Native Commission Bill read a second time. Kemoval of Prisoners Bill read a first time.
In the House of Representatives, Mr Haughton brought in a Bill limiting the liability of Mining Companies. The Masters and Servants Bill in committee. Public Domains Act passed. Long discussion on Jarvey's case ended in motion withdrawn. Outlying Police Districts Bill and Injury to Dogs Bill passed. Panama Mail Service and Provincial Loan Bills postponed.
Wallaby arrived at Nelson from Hokitika, with 6000 ozs gold.
