MR DICK AND THE EXECUTIVE.
{To the Editor of the Daily Times.)
Sir—At the meeting last night, at the Theatre Itoyat, Mr Dick refrained, trom motives of delicacy, from answering certain questions; but I think, in justice to him, yon will allow me to answer thet.i. Ist. The non-official members of the Executive do not draw their allowance as country members of the Provincial Council.
2nd. The non-official members of the present Executive receive only Ll5O per annum each, instead of L2OO as heretofore.
3rd. The official members (2, instead of 3 in former Executives) draw only L-540 each against LGOO, which was the salary till recently. 4th. The present Executive consists of 4 non-official?, L 600; 2 officials, Lloßo— LI6BO per annum. The previous Executives consisted of 3 officials at LGOO— L 1800; 2 non-officials at L2OO—L4OO ; L 2200. Showing an annual saving of L 520.
In justice to Mr Dick and to the members of the Executive, I am sure you will insert this in the same paper which gives the report of the meeting at which the questions were asked. I need not point out the atl vantage derived from the larger number of the present Executive, as giving an opportunity for every interest in the country to make itself heard.—l am, &c, A Member op Mr Dick's Committee.
