Galle, Jane 20. . ~ President Davis has been tried, and convicted of treason, but his fate is still uncertain.
President Johnson has issued a proclamation, declaring that evidence was in the possession of the Government, which shows that the murder of Lincoln, and the attempted assassination of Seward, were incited, concerted, or procured by Jefferson Davis, Jacob Thomson, Clement B. Clay, Beverley, Tucker, Grott, Sanderson, W. C. Cleary, and other rebel?, who were declared traitors against the Government of the United States, and said to be harbored in Canada. Besides the 100,000 dollars offered for the apprehension of Davis, 10,000 were offered for Cleary, and 25,000 for others. All the persons -darned in this proclamation are in J Canada, except Davia. of the Canadian Government their but* render. Tucker, Saunders, and Cleary. indignantly denied all knowledge of the matter, while Saunders and Tucker retaliated, by accusing Johnson ot concerting a plot for the murder of Davis.
