Sydney, May 23. The French frigate Ipigehe has arrived at New Caledonia with convicts. The markets have bsen very inactive to-day. 1,600 tons of sugar arrived here during last week. The Sugar Company have lowered their prices by 40s per tou. Speculators canaot reconcile themselves to 'ower rates. Ex Sverige, Manilla sugars, M. O. N. R and over D., commiud L 37 and L 34 per ton respectively. The quality of these brands of sugars is superior to anything previously imported.
