SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
Adelaide, May 23. Several hunndred tons of favourite brands of flour have been quitted to-day at L 25 per ton for export. A sale of wheat was effected to-day at 10s per bushel, but large parcels are worth more money. Sydney, 21st May. Gardiner has been acquitted. The result was received with immense cheering in court. Judge Wise was very indignant. He committed one person whom he paw cheering, but afterwards pardoned him on account of his youth. He censured the police for not arresting others. Gardiner has been remanded on. other charges. It was rumoured at Auckland that gold had been discovered by some Waikato militiamen. A prospecting party had started lor the place. The Phcebe brings 20,961 ozs of gold from Dunedin, and 3,010 ozs from Nelson. Abelaide, 21st May. Flour market firmer to-day, and a fair demand. Several parcels were sold at L 25.
