SHEARING RECORDS.

The tally of four men for one day, put up at Messrs W. and F. Franklin's shed at Maugatima last season,-was 1212 sheep, and this is regarded as probably a world's'-record for nine hours' machine shearing. The individual tallies were: — Wi Yella 361, G. Stewart 335, S. Burkenshaw 212. The sheep were mostly lambs, with a fair proportion of ewes. W. Yella is a resident of Matamau, "being a, New Zeajander of Dalmation >parentage, and has previously held the world's, record. Last year, when shearing for Mr-R. B. Totnmn, of Omatane. on the Main Trunk, he put up a iccoi'd of 347 Romneys in nine hours, and then lost ten minutes in the afternoon.
