Merchants advise that business is brisk in most lines of grain, seed, and produce. Oats. —The market is steady at alight-' ly advanced rates. B Cartons are at os 6d f.0.b., s.i., for prompt delivery, and os f.o.b.. s.i., spread brer April to June. Locally a better inquiry exists, and stocks are moderate. For Algerians the market is slightly easier. Australian dressed and clipped are quoted at 7s f.o.b. Melbourne. A large shipment ex Kahvarra met a fair inquiry. Dressed and clipped are quoted at 8s 3d, good bright farmers' dressed at 7s and 7s 3d f.0.b., s.i., and feed quality at os f.0.b., s.i. For Ruaktirasa steady demand continues, with fair supplies at os 9d f.0.b., s.i. Potatoes. —The market is steady, and Southern are quoted at £7 5s f.0.b.. s.i., for April to June delivery. The market is still supplied with local qiml-: ity.at £ll ex rail: Onions. —The market is firm with lair supplies and a good inquiry. Localqualitv is quoted at £l3. ex rail and: .Southern n't £lO f.0.b., s.i. Chaff. —The market is steady, with good supplies and larger quantities of local quality, which ,is quoted at £ll to £l2 ex rail. Prime Blenheim is at £ll 5s f.0.b., s.i., good bright Canterbury at £lO os. and prime R-angiti-kei*£l2 10s on trucks at Marton. Bran and Pollard. —There is a strong demand for these at the advanced Government rates. Fowlwhent. —A keen demand exists, and there'is difficulty in securing supplies. Southern quotation's are anxiously awaited. Flour. —The market is firm and flocks are light. A good inquiry exists at the new Government prices. Ryecorn.—There is only a small inquiry and stocks are in small compass. Barley is firm, with moderate stocKs and a fair inquiry. Seeds.—Standard Akaroa cocksfoot is at Is BJd f.0.b., perennial rvegrass, 311b seed, at 9s 6d f.0.b.. Italian 'rvo<rrrn?s at Ps fid f.0.b., super lines of cowsrr.n=s and alsyke at 290s and 2755, and white clover at 2755. Manures. —For blood and bone the market is very firm. Prices have advanced, and" there is keen competition for all lines offering.
