AUCKLAND MARKETS. By Telegraph. (Special to the Oaniaru Mail.)

AUCKLAND, November 5. The weather has been cold and stormv, with practically no rain, and crops are beginning to suffer from lack of moisture. Produce merchants -e----port a good business. Oats.—The market- is very linn, and supplies are short. The Waitemata, with a shipment, is expected shortly. There is a fair demand. A and U. Gartous are cjiioted at- os Id and 5s f.o.b, «i . respectivelv. There are amplestocks of Algerians for sowing requirements. A fair inquiry exists for dressed and clipped at 6s 3d. Feed lines are in dull demand at 4s 6d i'.o.b., s.t. Table Potatoes—The market is weak, with fair supplies of old quality, which aro selling at £lO 10s ex wharf. New local quality are at 2Vd per lb, and m goocl demand. ■ . Seed .Potatoes. —Stocks are sutlicieiit for the balance of the season. Mam varieties are at about £8 10s, ex store. Onions.— The market continues weak, and Japanese are selling at 15s a urate for - re-picked. Chaff.—The market is very farm, as supplies are short, and there is a good demand. Prime local is quoted at .£1.3, ex rail, and prime Blenheim at £lO 10s, f.0.b., s.i., Picton. Good bright Can-' terbury is nominally worth £9 10s, but shipment is limited owing to lack of space. There are small offerings of Rangitikei and Hawke's Bay at £l2 10s. f.0.b., s.i. . , Flour. —The market is -unchanged, with smali inquiry at £l4 10s, Jess •> per cent. Milling Wheat—There arc fair supplies. . Fowl Wheat.—The market is very firm. Light stocks are held, and there is a good demand at 6s 10-kl f.0.b., sacks extra. Maize. —Good supplies , are on hand from the East Coast, and the demand is quiet at 7s 3d, ex; wharf. Bran. —The market is linn, with supplies almost sufficient for present requirements. Pollard. —Adequate stocks are held. Cape Barley—Tho market is firm, >but inquiry is dull at 4s Dd, f.o.b, s.i. Ryccorn. —The market is unchanged at- 5s 6d, f.0.b., s.i., with small demand. : Grass Seed. —The uiarkot is firmer, with fair inquiry. For 161b171b Plains seed the quotation is Is 3J-. and for standard Akaroa Is 5d ior Februarv. Perennial ryegrass is worth from" 6s 6d to 7s 3d, according Io weight, and Italian Cs 3d, 1.0.b. 'lhe market is firm for all clovers. Super lines of cowgrass are quoted at 280s, and white clover at 2455. Manures. —The blood and bone market is firmer, with a good, demand at £l6 10s. CHRISTCHU.RCH, November 5. ~ There was a double market at Addington to-day, as no sale will be held in Carnival Week. The yarding in all classes of stock was a good deal above the average. In spite of this, tho demand was very keen, and in all lat stock sections high prices reigned supreme as usual. There was an improvement in the size of the store sheep yarding, but the quality was inferior to tliat- at the previous week's sale. The demand was fairly brisk, and late rates were, fully maintained. Two-tooth ewes -and lambs, all counted, 21s. 4d to 225; s.m. ewes and lambs, all counted. IS.s to 24s 9d : four and six-tooth wethers. 33s to 44s 9d; six and eight-tooth wethers, 3Gs (id to 39s (id: ewe hoggets., 25s (jd to 40s; shorn, 22s 9d; s.m. hoggets. 27s fid; wether hoggets, 22s 6d to 33s 4d. A total of 603 fat lambs were penned, against 152 last week. The ..quality was fair, and values went- to 39s lor fat lambs.

There were twelve races of fat shne-p—a bigger yarding than for a long time. Prices were firm all through for \rood stock. Extra prime withers, to 87s fid; prime. 60s to • 70s; medium, 48s to s(is; lighter, 30s to 45s 3d: extra prime ewes. 70s fid; prime, 52s to 61 s;' medium. 42s to 50s; lighter. 30s 3d to 40s; prime hoggets,'9os; lighter, 33s lOd.

TIURNSIDE market. [Per Press Association.) DUNEDTN. November 5. At Burnsido to-day 148 fat were'penned. Prices opened above late rates, and values were well maintained throughout. One extra prime heavy Irallock, £43 15s; heavy, £3O to £36: medium. £22 10s to £2." 10s, others, £2O unwards. Best- cows and lieiteih £25 12s Gd; heavy, £2O; others, £l2 U^SReep. —Onlv 882 were penned. The qualit-v was indifferent, and only a tew pens of prime heavy came iorwari.
