A COUNTRY WEDDING.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A pretty wedding of great local interest was celebrated at Awamoka at 11'a v .m. on October 29th, when Miss Martha (Mattie'i Lowry, stepdaughter of Mr W. Marshall, and daughter of tin- late Mrs Marshall, was married to Mr T. A. Robertsons.a returned soldier, son of-the late Mr,T. Robertson and Mrs Robertson, of Niagara. Southland.' The 'Rev. Mr Irving, of Enfield, ofli.eiated. The bride was artistically attired in white silk, and wore the orthodoxveil and orange blosoms, and carried a pretty floral bouquet. She was given away'by her 'stepfather': The bride's. sister Isabel and her cousin (Miss Middlemass) were -bridesmaids, and looked sweet to perfection. ' The bridegroom was attended-by his cousin (Mr G. Anderson) as best man. The bridegroom's present'to the bride was a beautiful pearl brooch, and to the bridesmaids a brooch and pendant. A sumptuous breakfast was provided in a specially erected marquee, and the usual toasts were honored, and many congratulatory telegrams were read. Amid showers of congratulations and' confetti the happy couple left per motor for the South. The bride's travelling dress consisted of a- grey tweed costume, blue crepe do chine blouse, and a black hat trimmed with pink. The joyful pair were the recipients of many valuable'presents, including substantial cheques. In the.evening many of the guests reassembled and a most enjoyable time was spent. The floor of one large room was cleared, and the younger folks chased the hours with Hying feet till earlv morn.
