RISE IN COAL.

Christchurch, January 10. At a combined meeting of coal importers and merchants for the purpose of considering the recent increases in the price of coal and freight on imported coal and the price to be charged to the public, it was decided to fix the xetail price at 56s a ton, which is practically an increase of 10s -per ton on late rates.
