WAIMATE MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

(From Onr Own Correspondent.) (Hriore Mr V. H. Day, S-M.) The following eases were dealt, with at the S.M. Court on Tuesday:— .Michael Anderson pleaded guilty to l«ri:.g found drunk on the Main road at Sinriholmc Junction, and was fined G*. The following were charged by the Town Clerk under the Borough water bv-laws:—Messrs 1L A. Xicol, L. Dewnr, K- J. Collis, Mrs S. J. Adams, and Dr Pitts. A fine of TOs and costs was imposed in each case, with the exception of the case of Dr Puts, whic-b wa* dismissed. T. G. Lewis (Town Clerk) v. E. O. Xet-ion. rhnrged with allowing a horse to wander in the borough streets. Defendant stated that he had left lus horse tied up to a post while he went into a place to pay an account, ami on returning found that the horse'had broken awav. and he eventually found it in the pound. Defendant was convicted and discharged: Jess>e M. J'inlayson was charged witii cutting the sides of the water-race and taking water therefrom. Mr Hamilton, on behalf of the County Council, asked for a heavv fine. Fined £3 and coses £1 Bs. John Hrcslin and A. E. Pelvin were similariv charged. Breslin was fined £3 and costs, £1 Ss, and A. E. Pelvin £•> and costs. - E. H. Harrison, A\aihao Downs, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving cattle through the Main street of }\nimnte, and was fined 10s nnd costs .s. .Samuel Miller (Mr Lucas) v. William Quinn (Mr Hamilton), claim £6 in respect of range and part of xhimney wrongfullv remored from dwelling purchased by plaintiff from defendant Inst June. Miller recently sned E. J. Atwill for recovery of range, E. J. Atwill being the lessee of the property at ™ie time of purchase by plaintiff, in which the decision was for defendant, on the •n-otind that the stove was detachable.— The Magistrate gave judgment in tins case for amount claimed, with costs, on the ground that the price paid for the property was inclusive of therange.. - , A The following ncbt cases were lieard: W Freeman v.
