C Hayes (deputy Mayor* in tin* chair, and Coun. cillors Atwill, Collelt, Evans, Russell, Pollock,- Manchester. Jones, and Inkstcr. Dash r«* drainage to his property, contending that as he had borne part of tin* cost the drain was a private one. — The Council decided that the drain was the property of the Conncil Messrs Hamilton and Fitch applied, on behalf of W. Blizzard, for permission to transfer his lease to Miss •Beer.—* (.'ranted, subject to conditions of lease. .Messrs \V. F. White and J. Werges and Mrs M" Donald applied to have the brouogli water supply connected to their properties.—Referred to Water Commit tct* tor a report. G. S. Meredith wrote stating that if the Council laid the drainage up Maud sinv! to his property, Jie would make up jiiiv deficiency in revenue required.— The Council decided to go on with the work, and accept -Mr Meredith's offer. Mc*srs Gralam and Geoigc,- as a deputation from the Trades I'icuie Assoriation. - waited on the Council, and a*fccd them to gnint the borough workman a holiday for the pur*>ose of attending the picnic.—The Council as--tired the deputation that the men would lie treated fairly in the matter.
