Replying .to a New South Waies Alliance ' deputation asking for a bare majority vote, the earlier closing of hotels, and State option, the. Minister of Justice said the pressure of business made it impossible for the requests to be considered this session, but he would sympathetically place them before his colleagues next session. He had little hope of semiring much in the way of liquor reform in the present Parliament. Until the Alliance could get in each electorate a strong party absolutely determined to put the liquor question first and foremost it "was no use blaming Parliament for not doing what the Alliance'wanted.
