DEPLETING THE WORLD'S FLOCKS.

SCARCITY OF MEAT TN SIGHT. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] (Per Press Association.) Received July 9, at 8.5 a.m. Sydney, July 8. At the annual meeting of the Pastoralists' Association the president stated that the flocks of New South AVales had decreased six millions in the past five years. Argentine flocks were also decreasing. At the same time the . world's meat consumption was expanding.. All indications pointed to a world-wide scarcity and high prices in the near future. Referring to the late meat strike, the president said it marked an important era in the history of industrial struggles and had proved the absolute necessity for employers in all callings forming themselves into one powerful organisation to resist the unfair, increasing, and insistent demands of the employees. Unless they did so they could not hope to remain masters of their own businesses or carry them on j with any prospect of success.
