RESTRICTION OF IMMIGRATION.

By Telegraph. (Special to the Oamaru Mail.) Wellington, July S. A deputation of timber workers today urged the restriction of immigration. The Premier stated that the only assisted people were domestic servants and farm laborers. So far as he could hear there was a big demand for both classes. He commented oil the fact that predictions had been made of a hard winter, but the Labor Department had informed him that it was able to find work for every able-bodied man that comes along. He was personaly convinced that the country was going to have a boom in the coming spring arid summer, and there would bo a tremendous demand for all classes of labor.
