FINED FOR STRIKING.

Mr Holman stated in reply to a question that 134 persons had been fined for taking part in strikes since October 14th and only one fine-had been paid. Nobody had been imprisoned for non-pay-ment and no steps had been taken to enforce payment. Application for the remission of the fines was under ennsideration.
