A RAILWAY DISMISSAL.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, May 31. An appeal against dismissal was the subject of a hearing by the North Island Railway Appeal, Board-to-day.' : The appellant was Joseph William Haugliie, lately fireman and acting engine-driver at Cross Creek. The alleged ground of his dismissal was his failure to come on duty at the proper time and his intoxicated condition rendering him unfit to take charge of an engine. Tho Board comprised Dr M'Arthur, S.M. (chairman), C. P. Ryan (representing the first division), and C. G. Lee (representing the second division), and P. D. Clark (representing the appellant).
