.• Christchureh', May 15. The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court, opened this morning. In addressing the grand jury Mr Justice Dcnniston said lie regretted that the list of cases was a heavy one, fifteen charges requiring investigation. Five were concerned .with sexual offences, ami two persons were charged with murder. Jack and Walter Richard Sadler, alleged murder of Ethel Bradley. Bertram Stephen Lambert, for carnally knowing a girl under IG, is to come up for "sentence when called on. James Leslie was sentenced to three months' for arson and two years' reformative; detention. '

Wellington, May 15. At the Supremo Court to-day Charles Gurotei .cab' driver "at Masterton,- was convicted of the theft of chaff. The prisoner, "against whom there are 18 previons convictions, was remanded for sentence'tQl Friday. Throe young men, named Michael" O'Brien, Frank Voss, and' Thomas Lane, were charged that, on April. 18tli, at Wellington, they stole 8s in money and two railway luggage .receipts'. from the person of Leonard D.avid M'Cracken, and, further, that they stole.a gladstone bag and the content's thereof (clothing, etc).
