ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

(Pen Press Association.) Woodville, May 9. A young man, aged 22, named Timothy Joseph Sullivan, was accidentally killed by a fall of earth at Ktiineron this morning. He was working on the Woodville County road contract on the Upper Otawhao road, whore there is a good deal of excavating work to do. Shortly after starting work a big fall of earth came down which smothered him up to the neck. His mates, who were working close by, came to his assistance as soon as possible, but when released he was quite dead." All that is known about him is that he formerly belonged to Seadown, near Temuka". The body was brought into Woodville, where an inquest will lie held in the mornin'g. ..' ,' Dnnedin, May 9.' A farmer named .William Kirk, reaiding at Kast Taieri, met with a fatal accident this morning. He was riding a young horse in a paddock, and the animal bolted, deceased being' thrown against a dray. Death was almost instantaneous. Mr Kirk, .who. was 54 years of age, loaves a widow and 13 children. • ;T Auckland, May 10. A boy aged 15 years, son of Jesty, a settler in Ness Valley, lias been-miss-ing for a week. A search party found the body in a deep water hole, and at the inquest a verdict was returned of accidental death by drowning.";
