Paris, April 25'. Letters from Fez recount the brutalities practised by the Sultan on wounded rebel prisoners, .some of whom were bastinadoed to death. ': - A . There are indications that Mtilai Hafid is mentally deranged. He suddenly married a cousin on April 11th, and' requisitioned rill female dancers and singers in Fez to a midnight fete. The Magzen populace is incensed. \.The rebellion wast: the outcome of brave tribesmen being goaded by crueltv and extortion. Eight hundred Hayaina auxiliaries, who are favorable to the Sultan and brought food, entered Fez on the 18th. About 2000 . attackers were repulsed on the 19th, and Colonel Bremond successfully attacked the rebels on the 22nd.
