THE LABOR BUREAU.

To the Editor. Sir, —The report of tha local Labor Bureau appearing in this evening's Mail would be very misleading to a stranger, as, by the said report, practically all trades are fair, or all hands employed. Instead, to be truthful, it ought to have reported all trades as very dull. In the building trades things are almost as bad as they can be, and a number have already left the town after vainly trying to find employment. As for unskilled labor, there is none to be got. Hoping that the author of the report will in future make some attempt to got the state of labor before issuing same.—l am, etc., CARPENTER. Oamaru, March 17, 1911.
