ST. PATRICK'S DAY SPORTS.

To-dav the attraction was the sporte at Geraldine, special interest being given to these sports by the presence of Holway, Trembath, and M'Lachlan, each making a fine performance. " Holway attcm pied to lower the 140 yards record of 13 Jsec, but took 13 4-osec, but the track had an uphill rise in it. Trembath was greatly applauded for his halfmile in lmin 53 4-ssec, but the track, when measured, was found to be 7J yards short. There were good fields in nearly all the events, and the meeting passed off well in the presence of a record attendance.

At St. Patrick's Day sports the principal race, the St. Patrick's Handicap, of £IOO (loOyds), was won Tjy S. Darby (Auckland), Campion (Wanganui) 2, Leahy (Taihape) 3. A protest against Darby will be decided to-morrow. G. Kwshv (Auckland) won the Publicans' Handicap of 100 yards, W. Farrelly (Hastings) the half-mile, and 15. Cunningham (l'etone) the 220 yards hurdles. . Madock and C. Sheen (Blenheim) won the mile and two miles bicycle i-vents respectively.
