ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

At the inquest held on the body of a nian named Thomes M'Grath, found.;in; '•the Esk : River, Petane, on Monday, the. evidence:showed tht deceased was with-; out money, and had been.sent to work, by the -District Engineer. ' Deceased was 60 years of age and a hard-working ; man. .The. river was not fprdable Mi the morning in question, and: it-is thought that MfGrath was accidentally; drowned Whilst attempting to cross it. The Coroner returned a verdict to that, effect. , ;
