TELEGRAMS.

(Peb Phesb Association.) Bluff, March 14. Sailed —Everton Grange, for Timara: schooner Huanui, for Macquarrie and Campbell Islands. Bluff, March 15. Sailed —Wairuna, for Oamaru. AN ADVENTUROUS VOYAGE. j Gisborne, March 14.-- J The 60-ton scow Waikonini, which has been long delayed and was causing her local agents some anxiety, has arrived from Tauranga after a somewhat thrilling experience, the voyage occupying 14 days. The Waikonini set out for Gisborne on February 28th, and when off White Island next day the vessel was struck by a south-east hurricane and mountainous seas. Her sails were trimmed down to storm canvas, and she was hovo to, the sea being too heavy to allow her to run. Big seas were shipped, and the fresh water tanks were flooded, so that the crew had to drink brackish water for some days. The forwarcTcehtre board carried away, and the water poured through the casing. An effort was made to wedge up the opening with sacks, but the wedges were continually washed out. The effort was a perilous undertaking, for while the men were at work big seas swept the vessel, her bows being smothered: with water, and it was a wonder they escaped injury. The pump was kept going night and day. Only the lee-side pump was in working order, and as this only allowed tacking to the lee-side the Waikonini was driven to sea, and it was seven days before she sighted land again. Eventually the starboard pump worked, and the scow was brought up at Alderman's, opposite Mercury Bay. The weather then moderated, and the vessel was able to resume her voyage. Tie provisions, such as meat and tea, ran out.
