CROPS IN AWAMOKO.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

•Now that the mills are nearly, all pulled in jor the se'aspn, a few of the yields for this harvest may be interesting to many: Farm No. 1, 79 acres, yield for wheat,. bushels; No. 2, 13 acres wheat, 31 bushels; No. 3, 40 .acres wheat, 5 bushels; No. 4, 37, 35, and 20 acres wheat, 25J, 12, and 10 bushels respectively; No. 5, 42 acres wheat, 20 bushels; ; No. 6, 220 acres •wheat, average 10 bushels; No.'7, 18 bushels; No. 9, 40 and 25 acres oats, 25 and 22 bushels respectively. The above is not making any allowance for the fields; of, both oats and wheat that have been ;fed off with stock; in fact, the feeding off counted as very little to the, .farmer, as the continued drought dried what little growth there was so as to make it unfit for feed for stock:.; Several.other farmers don't care' to give their yields, but it is pretty, certain that there were several hundreds of acres that yielded less than •: 7 "bushels. The turnip and rape crops are a complete failure. A fair prospect promised about two .months ago, but now there is nothing to be seen for all the labor and expense of sowing, manures, etc. The farmer's lot at present is not a very happy one, as the outlook for the winter months is of the worst. The, continued 1 drought for five years' is" the cause of it all, every year ; being worse than the preceding one. ■ Rain now would not benefit the feed very much, a'S frost will soon set in. -

■•' Farmers are anxiously waiting to hear about'free rail for fodder, etc., to this" locality. Many are disposing of their stock, or, rather, sacrificing them.
