THE WEATHER.
(Peb Press Association.) Wellington, December 20. Mr D. C. Bates' summary and forecast are: Strogg northerly winds have prevailed, andgales in parts southward of Cook Strait. The weather has been verv warm, hazy and. showery generally. Tho barometer has fallen low in the extreme south. The present indications are for high northerly winds, veering to westerly. The weather will probably be stormy southward of Kawlna and Castle Point, especially in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Bain is probable geiierallv, and flooded rivers 011 the coast. The barometer will probably tall everywhere, but rise soon temporarily in the extreme south.
