There was a big attendance-on hoth occasions. Results: Bantam, N. Barnard; feather, T. J. Parker; light, W. Rogers-; welter; 1 F. Seymour; middle, J'. W. Nicolas; heavy, B. Lowe. Great interest attached to the piofesslonal contest for .£SO betw-c-en W. Wenand and L. TRobmson (local champion lightweight). W. O'Connor was referee, while with Wenand was Rudd (the heavy weight), and wi{h Robftison was W. Crawfoid. Wenand'opened briskly, 1 and in the earlier rounds p>led' up the points, but Robinson rallied, and from the fifth lound onwards scored heavily was cautioned for holding, but continued to do so amidst the disapproval of the ring-suiters. In the twelfth lOand Wenand was disqualified for a t -ill in attempting to' throw Robinson, who therefbie obtained a well-earned veid'ct —a popular decision.
