The Marlborough" Union forwarded a "resolution .expressing the ' opinion that the time had arrived when the Buller, Vest Coast, Nelson, -and Marlborough Unions should have a representative as one of the selectors of tbe South Islaud team. This was inferred to the incoming committee. Regarding the match between Auckland arid Hlwkes Bay last year, the former union w rote stating that the match had nc-ver been considered by it other than in orclirarv challenge match for the Ran furl v Shield. There had been no communication that the match would be a special challenge match until some weeks after the game had been played. Held over for consideration pending the rsceipt of a reply from Hawkes Bay. T. A. Grace wrote with reference to the Pioposed tour next season of old scholars of Te Ante College m New South and suggested that the team Fhould' consist of about twenty-two pbi,ers, and the tour -would extend o rV four v.eeks; if there was any profit iif,:.! ihfc tour it would be given to the r i\> Ante Collage Association for-charitv in aid of 'the Uukarara Maori Gins .-school recently destroyed "by fire, xt \\;U decided that the Union could not nijurove of the proposed tour at tins iiliipture, considering the time was inopportune.
