AN ENERGETIC PREMIER.

Interviewed on'his return Sir Joseph Ward said lie now had a good 'idea of the" high and low country and the varying conditions of summer and winter. The knowledge he had gained would enable lnm to understand the position better when the .question of reletting the runs came before'the Lands Committee or the House. This was Sir Joseph's first visit to Mount Cook, and he says he was delighted with what he saw. He was impressed with the need of providing more accommodation for the ■' i at''the Hermitage and also for shifting the buildings to a better site (Governor's; Bush);as soon as possible. '
