INCENDIARISM.

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, September 27. - George Ernest Tapp, aged about 18 rears, was arrested by Detective "Ward this afternoon on a charge that he did, on the oth inst., at Ravensbourne, set fire to a building, the property of Edward Crosland. A fire broke out in Oosland's bakery, in which the young man was employed. He was the only one on the premises, and he extinguished the fire. A sack saturated with kerosene was found by Tapp under the floor, and it was about a-quarter burnt through, and there was a bottle containing kerosene near by. Mr Graham, coroner, held an inquiry to-day into the circumstances connected with the fire, and returned a verdict "that the place was wilfully set on fire by. Tapp." As a result of which Detective Ward, who conducted the inquiry, immediately arrested him. Accused was brought up in the Police Court and remanded until Wednesday! week, \bafl bein.s; allowed accused in. his own recoKnkauce of £l5O and two-sure- j ties of- £75 each.. •"
