The Clerk reported that .the new County pound would be available tor use after August 6th, and the necessary resolutions were carried to close the present Borough pound. . -'Councillor Sanders was appointed valuer for the Borough in the matter ot the material used from the old pound in the building of the new pound, and it was decided to call tenders for the purchase of the old pound for removal. It was resolved to obtain an opinion from the solicitor .to the Municipal Association as to the Council's power to collect a license fee from the Drill Shed 'Councillor Sanders proposed, and Councillor Collett seconded: I bat a special Committee, consisting ot tlie Deputy-Mayor and Councillors Miller, Jones,' and Hunt, he set up to report as to the cost of an underground storm water drain from the east corner ot Manse and Shearman streets to Glasgow street.—Carried. Councillor Manchester proposed, and Councillor Hunt seconded, that copies of the Borough map be supplied to each Councillor free of cost.—Carried The Water Committee reported that it regretted being unable to recommend the granting of water to a county rc-si-duts at less than the minimum rate. — Resolved to inform the applicant accordingly. ~ . .
