THE GOVERNOR IN AUCKLAND.

(Per Press Association.) . • " " Auckland, July 12. Lord Islington, accompanied by Captain Maitland, A.D.C., and Mr KenClark (private .secretary), arrived by the Main Trunk express train Ironi \\ ellington this morning. He was met at the railway station by Captain Hoseawen, lion. A.D.C., and driven to the Grand Hotel. After breakfast Ins Excellency went to Government House, where lie received several visitors, including the Hon. 0. Fowlds, the Mayor (Mr L. J. Bagnall), and Sir John Campbell (the father of Auckland). Later on Archdeacon Calder and the members of the Standing Committee waited on his Excellency and presented him with an address of welcome on behalf of the Diocese of Auckland. This afternoon his Excellency was officially welcomed at a big gathering at Victoria. Park, and presented with an address from the city, after which he inspected the cadets.
